Extension of regional pay-per-view service area


The Commission approves the application by Breakaway PPV Corporation (Breakaway) to amend the broadcasting licence for its regional pay-per-view programming undertaking in order to serve the provinces of Saskatchewan and Manitoba as well as the Yukon Territory, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The applicant is currently licensed to serve only the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia.


Breakaway offers a service that is exclusively dedicated to broadcasting the games of the National Hockey League involving the following hockey clubs: the Vancouver Canucks, the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames.


The Commission did not receive any interventions in connection with this application.
