Swift Current Telecasting Co. Ltd. has informed the Commission that, as of 31 May 2002, it will cease operation of the television programming undertaking consisting of CJFB-TV Swift Current and its transmitters CJFB-TV-1 Eastend, CJFB-TV-3 Riverhurst and CJFB-TV-2 Val Marie. |

Pursuant to sections 9(1)(e) and 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission revokes the licence issued to Swift Current Telecasting Co. Ltd. for the above-mentioned undertaking, as of 31 May 2002. |

CJFB-TV and its transmitters provided the English-language television network service of the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) to residents of the communities noted above. In CBKT Regina - Transmitters at Riverhurst and Swift Current, Decision CRTC 2002-145, also released today, the Commission has authorized the CBC to add transmitters at Swift Current and Riverhurst in order to maintain its service in these communities and surrounding areas. |
