Decision CRTC 2001-438

Ottawa, 27 July 2001

Metromedia CMR Broadcasting Inc.
Saint-Jérôme, Quebec 2000-2141-0

Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 2001-64 dated 5 June 2001

Increase in power for CIME-FM

The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for CIME-FM Saint-Jérôme, by increasing the effective radiated power from 630 watts to 11,700 watts and by changing the channel associated with its frequency from 280A to 280C1.

This amendment will allow the licensee to reach all sectors within its broadcasting area and to increase the quality of its signal rebroadcast at Mont-Tremblant.

The Commission authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the contours and particulars resulting from the above-mentioned changes.

The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable. The Department will only issue a broadcasting certificate once it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

In accordance with section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the above-mentioned amendment will only be valid when the Department of Industry certifies to the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a broadcasting certificate has been or will be issued.

The Commission has examined the intervention submitted regarding this application.
