Re: Implementation of price cap regulation for TELUS Québec and Télébec (Public Notice CRTC 2001-36) - Response to the Commission's 5 October interrogatories

In your letter dated 17 October 2001, you brought to our attention that ARC et al. was not aware of the Commission's interrogatories dated 5 October 2001 until 17 October. You therefore requested that the deadline for responding to the interrogatories be extended from 16 October to 24 October 2001.

In view of the foregoing, it is considered reasonable that ARC et al.'s responses to the interrogatories be filed with the Commission and served on interested parties by 24 October 2001.

In the event of a public disclosure request, the following procedure will be applicable. Requests by parties for public disclosure of information for which confidentiality has been claimed by ARC et al., setting out in each case the reasons for disclosure, must be filed with the Commission and served on all the parties by 29 October 2001. Written responses to requests for public disclosure must be filed with the Commission and served on all parties by 1 November 2001. A determination will be issued with

respect to requests for public disclosure as soon as possible, and it is expected that any information to be provided pursuant to that determination will be filed with the Commission and served on all parties by 8 November 2001.

Yours sincerely,

Shirley Soehn
Executive Director - Telecommunications
