Ottawa, 7 August 2001

John Elliott
Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario 2001-0452-1

Application processed by
Public Notice CRTC 2001-64
dated 5 June 2001

Change of frequency for the tourist information radio station serving Sault Ste. Marie

1.

The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the tourist information radio programming undertaking serving Sault Ste. Marie by changing the frequency from 96.3 MHz (channel 242LP) to 92.9 MHz (channel 225 LP).

2.

The licensee has stated that the proposed change will eliminate co-channel interference with a Michigan station broadcasting on 96.3 MHz, and that the coverage contour of the station will not be affected.

3.

The Commission authorizes the licensee to operate the undertaking on the basis of the existing contours currently approved for this low-power, unprotected FM undertaking.

4.

In accordance with section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the above-mentioned amendment will only be valid when the Department of Industry certifies to the Commission that a broadcasting certificate has been or will be issued.
