Licence renewal for CKGB |
|
1. |
The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CKGB Timmins, from 1 September 2001 to 31 August 2002, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued, as also set out in Public Notice CRTC 1999-137. |
2. |
The Commission has granted the licensee a one-year licence renewal to allow it the necessary time to implement its English-language FM radio station at Timmins approved in Decision CRTC 2001-162 dated 2 March 2001. The new FM station will replace AM station CKGB. |
3. |
The Commission has authorized the licensee to broadcast simultaneously on the AM and FM bands for a transition period of three months following implementation of the new FM station. At the end of this period, the Commission expects the licensee to surrender the AM licence for cancellation by the Commission. |
4. |
The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada. |
