Licence renewal for ethnic radio station CFMB

1.

The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CFMB Montréal, from 1 March 2001 to 31 August 2007, subject to the conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued, as also set out in Public Notice CRTC 1999-137.

2.

It is a condition of licence that the licensee provide programming directed to a minimum of 19 cultural groups in a minimum of 18 different languages.

3.

The Commission is satisfied with the initiatives proposed by the licensee to reflect local issues and concerns over the new licence term.

4.

The Commission encourages the licensee to consider employment equity issues in its hiring practices and in all other aspects of its management of human resources (l'avis 1992-59).
