The Fairchild Movie Channel |
|
On 24 November 2000, the Commission approved a Category 2 specialty television service to be known as The Fairchild Movie Channel. The terms and conditions generally applicable to Category 2 services are set out in the public notice accompanying this and other decisions released today. |

Conditions of licence |
|
The licence, when issued, will expire 31 August 2007 and will be subject to the following conditions as well as to those set out in both Public Notice CRTC 2000-171 andin the licence to be issued. |

Nature of service |
|
a) The licensee shall provide a national ethnic Category 2 specialty television service consisting of feature films, made-for-TV feature films and long-form documentaries. |
|
b) The programming must be drawn exclusively from the following categories, as set out in Schedule I to the Specialty Services Regulations, 1990: |

c) 100% of all programming broadcast during the broadcast week shall be in Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, Vietnamese and other East Asian languages. |

Advertising |
|
With respect to the condition of licence relating to advertising, as set out in the above-noted public notice, the Commission approves the following: |

|
Except as otherwise provided in subparagraphs b), and c), the licensee shall not distribute more than 12 minutes of advertising material during each clock hour, no more than 6 minutes of which may consist of local or regional advertising. |
|
Definitions |
|
Broadcast day shall have the same meaning as that set out in section 2 of the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987. |
