Decision CRTC 99-508

  Ottawa, 25 November 1999
  The Haliburton Broadcasting Group Inc.
Sudbury and Timmins, Ontario – 199911285 – 199911293
Applications processed by Public Notice CRTC 1999-162 dated 29 September 1999
Licence amendments for the new French-language FM radio programming undertakings at Sudbury and Timmins
  1. The Commission approves the applications to amend the broadcasting licences of the new French-language FM radio programming undertakings at Sudbury and Timmins, by deleting the condition of licence requiring that the licensee devote 65% or more of its musical selections from content category 2 to Canadian selections. The licensee will be subject to the 35% Canadian content requirement set out in the Radio Regulations, 1986.
  2. The licensee indicated that it had inadvertently included a 65% commitment in the applications to acquire the assets of the stations and convert them to FM. These applications were approved in Decision CRTC 99-404 and the new stations will replace AM stations CHYC Sudbury and CKOY Timmins.
