Distribution of Jerry Lewis Labour Day Telethon
1. The Commission approves the application to amend the licences for the cable distribution undertakings serving the above-noted communities, during the Jerry Lewis Labour Day Telethon. The telethon is scheduled from 9 p.m. on 5 September 1999 to 7 p.m. on 6 September 1999.
2. The amendment will allow the licensee to interrupt the carriage of the telethon on WHEC (NBC) Rochester, New York, in order to broadcast locally-produced segments of the telethon.
3. The licensee is therefore relieved, by condition of licence, from the requirement of section 7(a) of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations that it not alter or delete a programming service in the course of its distribution.
4. The Commission also approves, by condition of licence, the licensee's request to distribute the signal of WHEC, with the locally-produced segments, on its community channel, for the duration of the telethon.
