Licence renewal for the French-language AM radio news network

1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the French-language AM radio news network from 1 September 1999 to 31 August 2006, subject to the same conditions as those in effect under the current licence, which will be reiterated in the licence to be issued. The licence is also subject to the conditions specified in this decision. This network broadcasts newscasts, public affairs programs and sports programs.

2. The Commission reminds the affiliated stations that they retain complete responsibility for their entire program schedule and that they are required to include the material broadcast during network programs when determining compliance with the Commission's regulations and policies.

3. It is a condition of licence that the licensee produce and broadcast at least 16 hours and 36 minutes of news per week.
