Decision CRTC 99-384
Ottawa, 30 August 1999
CHUM Limited
Vancouver, British Columbia
– 199812615
Application processed by Public Notice CRTC 1999-100 dated 21 June 1999
Licence renewal for CFUN
1. The Commission renews the broadcasting licence for CFUN Vancouver, from 1 September 1999 to 31 August 2006, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued. The Commission also renews, from 1 September 1999 to 29 February 2000, the authority granted in Decision CRTC 98-491 dated 3 November 1998 with respect to the digital radio transmitters at Mount Seymour and Burnaby.
2. The Commission acknowledges the interventions received with respect to this application and is satisfied with the licensee’s replies.
3. The Commission notes that this licensee is subject to the Employment Equity Act that came into effect on 24 October 1996 (1996 EEA), and therefore files reports concerning employment equity with Human Resources Development Canada. As a result of a consequential amendment to the Broadcasting Act, the Commission no longer has the authority to apply its employment equity policy to any undertaking that is subject to the 1996 EEA.
