Decision CRTC 99-159

Campbellford Area Radio Association

Campbellford, Ontario - 199901500

Application processed by
Public Notice CRTC 1999-78
dated 6 May 1999

Licence amendment for CKOL-FM

1.  The Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for the radio programming undertaking CKOL-FM Campbellford, by changing the frequency from 98.7 MHz (channel 254LP) to 93.5 MHz (channel 228LP).

2.  The applicant states that CKOL-FM, as a low-power, unprotected station, is required to effect the proposed change as a result of the recent licensing of frequency 98.7 MHz (channel 254B) to CBCP-FM Peterborough (Decision CRTC 98-516).

3.  The Commission acknowledges the interventions received with respect to this application and is satisfied with the licensee's reply to the concerns raised.

4.  The Department of Industry has advised the Commission that this application is conditionally technically acceptable. The Department will only issue a Broadcasting Certificate once it has determined that the proposed technical parameters will not create any unacceptable interference with aeronautical NAV/COM services.

5.  In accordance with section 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the above-mentioned amendment will only be valid when the Department of Industry certifies to the Commission that its technical requirements have been met and that a Broadcasting Certificate has been or will be issued.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
