Public Notice CRTC 1999-78 |
The Commission has received the following applications: |
ONTARIO REGION |
1. ACROSS CANADA |
Application (199906773) by the CANADIAN SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS INC. (CANCOM). CANCOM is required by condition of licence to distribute all conventional, Canadian, French-language television services that purchase national program rights. This application requests authority to be relieved of this requirement, in the case of CFTM-TV (TVA). |

2. ACROSS CANADA |
Application (199905543) by CTV TELEVISION INC. (CTV) to amend the licence for the national English-language specialty television service CTV News 1. CTV has requested the addition of a condition of licence that will permit it, during Canadian election periods, to exclude partisan political advertising from the calculation of the amount of advertising it broadcasts. |
The Specialty Services Regulations, 1990 do not specify a maximum hourly amount of advertising material that licensees of specialty services may broadcast. Instead, advertising limits for such licensees are regulated by condition of licence, on an individual basis. The licensee has applied for the flexibility granted conventional television broadcasters through the amendment to the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987 (Public Notice CRTC 1995-159). |

3. CAMPBELLFORD, Ontario |
Application (199901500) by CAMPBELLFORD AREA RADIO ASSOCIATION to amend the broadcasting licence of the radio programming undertaking CKOL-FM by changing the frequency from 98.7 MHz (channel 254LP) to 93.5 MHz (channel 228LP). |
The applicant states that CKOL-FM, as a low-power, unprotected station, is required to effect the proposed change as a result of the recent licensing of frequency 98.7 MHz (channel 254B) to CBCP-FM Peterborough (Decision CRTC 98-516). |
