Ottawa, 31 March 1998

Decision CRTC 98-93

Fundy Cable Ltd./Ltée

Saint John, New Brunswick - 199713905

Addition of CFTF-TV-1

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1998-9 dated 6 February 1998, the Commission approves the application for authority to distribute, at the licensee's option, the programming service of CFTF-TV-1 (TQS) Edmundston, as part of the basic service of the undertaking serving Saint John.

2. The licensee is authorized to receive this signal over the air, or from any licensed or exempted Canadian broadcasting distribution undertaking authorized to provide signals to other broadcasting distribution undertakings. The Commission notes that the applicant plans to receive CFTF-TV-1 via optical fibre.

3. The Commission is satisfied that the distribution of CFTF-TV-1 is in line with the guidelines on the cable distribution of distant Canadian television signals set out in Public Notices CRTC 1985-61, 1993-74 and 1997-84.

This decision is to be appended to the licence.
