a) to amend the broadcasting licence of the (radio) programming undertaking CIRX-FM Prince George by deleting its transmitters CIRX-FM-1 Vanderhoof and CIRX-FM-2 Fort St. James; and
b) for a broadcasting licence to carry on an FM (radio) programming undertaking at Vanderhoof with a transmitter at Fort St. James using the presently approved facilities of CIRX-FM-1 Vanderhoof and CIRX-FM-2 Fort St. James.
In addition to the regular Prince George programming that it would retransmit from CIRX-FM, the local programming at Vanderhoof would be limited to a split-feed from CIRX-FM involving community features and advertising pertaining to Vanderhoof and Fort St. James.
Since less than one-third of the new FM's programming aired will be local, the applicant is requesting an exemption to the Commission's policy outlined in Public Notice CRTC 1993-121 entitled "Local Programming Policy for FM Radio - Definition of a Single-Station Market", which states that stations other than those in single-station markets, shall refrain from soliciting or accepting local advertising for broadcast during any broadcast week less than one-third of the programming aired is local.
The above applications were made necessary in order to bring the licences in compliance with the Broadcasting Act which requires that transmitters which broadcast separate programming from the originating station be issued separate (radio) programming undertaking licences.

b) for a broadcasting licence to carry on an FM (radio) programming undertaking at Quesnel with a transmitter at 100 Mile House using the presently approved facilities of CFFM-FM-1 100 Mile House and CFFM-FM-2 Quesnel.
In addition to the regular Williams Lake programming that it would retransmit from CFFM-FM, the local programming at Quesnel would be limited to a split-feed from CFFM-FM involving community features and advertising pertaining to Quesnel and 100 Mile House.
Since less than one-third of the new FM's programming aired will be local, the applicant is requesting an exemption to the Commission's policy outlined in Public Notice CRTC 1993-121 entitled "Local Programming Policy for FM Radio - Definition of a Single-Station Market", which states that stations other than those in single-station markets, shall refrain from soliciting or accepting local advertising for broadcast during any broadcast week less than one-third of the programming aired is local.
