Decision

Ottawa, 9 September 1997
Decision CRTC 97-543
Constance Bay Cable T.V. Ltd.
Licence amendment
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-82 dated 27 June 1997, the Commission approves the application for authority to interconnect, via optical fibre, the cable distribution undertaking serving Constance Bay with the cable distribution undertaking serving Ottawa, licensed to Rogers Ottawa Limited/Limitée (Rogers).
2. The Commission notes that the licensee will replace the U.S. signals which are currently received via satellite from Cancom, with U.S. signals received via optical fibre from Rogers. Accordingly, in view of the interconnection approved herein, the licensee is authorized to distribute WHEC-TV (NBC), WROC-TV (CBS), WOKR-TV (ABC) Rochester, WUTV (FOX) Buffalo and WNPI-TV (PBS) Norwood, New York, received via optical fibre.
3. The Commission acknowledges the concerns expressed by Canadian Satellite Communications Inc. (Cancom) in its intervention to this application and is satisfied with the licensee's reply thereto.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
