Decision

Ottawa, 21 August 1997
Decision CRTC 97-478
Hay River Community Service Society
Hay River, Northwest Territories - 199614433
Licence renewal for CIHC-TV
1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-65 dated 26 May 1997, the Commission renews the broadcasting licence for the television programming undertaking CIHC-TV Hay River, from 1 September 1997 to 31 August 2002, subject to the conditions in effect under the current licence, as well as to those conditions specified in this decision and in the licence to be issued.
2. The licence term granted herein, while less than the maximum of seven years permitted by the Broadcasting Act, will enable the Commission to consider the next licence renewal of this undertaking in accordance with the Commission's regional plan for television programming undertakings across Canada and to better distribute the workload within the Commission. This term is not reflective of any Commission concern regarding the licensee's performance.
3. Consistent with Decision CRTC 93-638 dated 30 September 1993, the licensee is relieved, by condition of licence, of the requirements of section 4 of the Television Broadcasting Regulations, 1987 with regard to Canadian programs; of section
10 with regard to the retention of program logs or records; and of section 11 with regard to advertising material.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
