Interconnection

1. Following Public Notice CRTC 1997-29 dated 12 March 1997, the Commission approves the application for authority to delete the local head ends of the undertakings serving the above-noted localities and to interconnect, via optical fibre, these undertakings with the head end of the undertaking serving Ville-Marie, located in Laverlochère, also owned by Câblotem inc.

2. The Commission also approves the request for authority to continue to distribute, at the licensee's option, as part of the basic service, the programming services of WTOL-TV (CBS) Toledo, Ohio, WDIV (NBC) and WXYZ-TV (ABC) Detroit, Michigan, which will now be received via optical fibre.

3. The licensee has also requested authority to distribute, as part of the basic service, CICA-TV, TVOntario's English-language programming service, received via optical fibre. In view of the fact that it has not received an intervention from TVOntario, the Commission approves the licensee's request. The Commission reminds the licensee that should TVOntario object to the distribution of its service, it must cease distribution of that signal.
