Telecom Public Notice CRTC 96-4
MARITIME TEL & TEL - TRANSFER OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR TELEPHONE INSIDE WIRING TO SUBSCRIBERS
Reference: Tariff Notice 578
The Commission has received an application from Maritime Tel & Tel (MT&T), dated 20 December 1995, for approval of tariff revisions providing for the transfer, to subscribers, of responsibility for the installation and maintenance of single-line business and residence inside wiring and jacks on the customer's side of the demarcation point at the customer's premises, effective 1 September 1996. Under MT&T's proposal, two-party and four-party subscribers would not be affected.
MT&T states that upon the transfer of responsbility taking place, subscribers would be able to complete, with the aid of a guide provided by the company, their own inside wiring installation and maintenance, use the services of an independent contractor, or request MT&T to complete the work subject to charges for time and materials.
The application may be examined at any of MT&T's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 201, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, or Bank of Commerce Building, 1809 Barrington Street, Suite 1007, Halifax, Nova Scotia. A copy of MT&T's application may be obtained by any interested person upon request directed to the company at the address shown below.
