Decision

Ottawa, 1 October 1996
Decision CRTC 96-651
Regional Cable TV (Central) Inc.
L'Annonciation, L'Ascension and Sainte-Véronique, Quebec - 199603577 - 199603494 - 199603486
Deletion of local head end, interconnection and licence amendments
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-81 dated 12 June 1996, the Commission approves the applications by Regional Cable TV (Central) Inc. for authority to delete the local head ends of the cable distribution undertakings serving L'Ascension and Sainte-Véronique and to interconnect these undertakings with its undertaking serving L'Annonciation.
The Commission notes that the licensee will move the local head end in L'Annonciation to a new location, as approved by the Department of Industry.
The Commission approves the licensee's request to delete the condition of licence relieving it of the requirement that it distribute at least four television programming services as provided for in section 23 of the Cable Television Regulations, 1986 (the regulations). The Commission notes that the licensee now intends to comply with this section of the regulations for each of the above-noted undertakings.
With respect to the undertakings serving L'Ascension and Sainte-Véronique, the Commission approves the licensee's request to delete the condition of licence relieving it from the requirement of section 22 of the regulations that it distribute the priority signal of CBFT-1 Mont-Tremblant (CBC). The Commission notes that as a result of the interconnection approved herein, the licensee will be able to distribute this signal received from microwave from the L'Annonciation undertaking.
In accordance with subsection 22(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission will only issue the licence amendments, and the authority will only be granted, at such time as written notification is received from the the Department of Industry that it will issue Broadcasting Certificates.
This decision is to be appended to each licence.
