Licence amendment
Following Public Notice CRTC 1996-62 dated 3 May 1996, the Commission approves the application to amend the licence for the radiocommunication distribution undertaking serving Parson, as follows:
- by changing the channel distribution of CHAN-TV (CTV) Vancouver, from 4 to 7;
- by changing the frequency for the distribution of CFMI-FM New Westminster, from 105.1 MHz to 92.7 MHz and the effective radiated power from 49 watts to 13.5 watts; and
- by adding low power transmitters for the distribution, in non-encrypted mode, of the programming services of the Open Learning Agency (Knowledge Network) and CITV-TV (IND) Edmonton, on channels 11 and 9, each with a transmitter power of 10 watts; as well as CISN-FM Edmonton, on the frequency 98.7 MHz, with an effective radiated power of 13.5 watts.
The Commission also notes that the licensee proposed to relocate the existing transmitters 1.95 kilometres southeast of the present site, for which no approval is required.
The Commission acknowledges the intervention submitted by the Open Learning Agency in support of this application.
This decision is to be appended to the licence.
