Power increase
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1993-141 dated 15 October 1993, the Commission approves the application to amend the broadcasting licence for radio programming undertaking CBYG-FM Prince George (the originating station), by increasing the effective radiated power of the transmitter CBUV-FM Fort St. James, from 10 watts to 150 watts.
CBUV-FM and CBUV have been simulcasting since 1982. The CBC maintained CBUV to counteract deficiencies in the FM transmitter's coverage. The CBC indicates that the proposed power increase for CBUV-FM will improve the quality of the CBC's radio service to Fort St. James and surrounding communi- ties. The CBC will cease operation of CBUV within twelve months following the implementation of the power increase.
