Bonaventure, Hemmingford, etc. (as listed in the appendix to this decision), Quebec - 920295300Câble Télé-Plus Régional Inc.Berthierville, Sainte-Geneviève-de-Berthier, etc. (as listed in the appendix to this decision), Quebec - 920346400
Pursuant to Public Notice CRTC 1992-31 dated 27 April 1992, the Commission approves the applications for authority to transfer effective control of Câble Télé-Plus Québec 1 Inc. and its subsidiary, Câble Télé-Plus Régional Inc., licensees of the cable distribution undertakings serving the communities listed in the appendix to this decision, through the transfer of all the shares of Câble Télé-Plus Québec 1 Inc. currently held by 153182 Canada Inc. (50%), a company controlled by Guy Laflamme, to 2787580 Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Regional Cablesystems Inc.
As a result of these transactions, Câble Télé-Plus Québec 1 Inc. and its subsidiary will be indirectly controlled by Regional Cablesystems Inc., a publicly traded company.
The Commission reiterates its longstanding policy that subscribers should not be required to pay higher fees merely because the ownership or control of a cable television system has changed hands. The Commission is of the view that approval of these applications is in the public interest.
