Telecom Public Notice CRTC 1991-88
BELL CANADA - INTRODUCTION OF MICROLINK SERVICE
Reference: Tariff Notice 4166
The Commission has received an application from Bell Canada (Bell), dated 19 November 1991, for approval of the introduction of Microlink Service, and related terminal equipment, which would provide digital access from a customer's premises to existing network services. Bell states that the proposed service would use the Integrated Services Digital Network Basic Rate Interface as defined in Interface Disclosure Document ID-0011. The service would provide a standard loop, over existing copper facilities, comprising two 64 kilobits per second (kbps) B channels and a 16 kbps D channel.
Bell states that Microlink would interwork with existing Centrex III/Enhanced Exchange-Wide Dial Service voice and data locals. Bell intends to price the standard link at slightly over twice the rate for Centrex III locals proposed in Tariff Notice 3876 (see CRTC Telecom Public Notice 1991-33, 17 May 1991). Bell states that any competing carrier service accessible from Centrex III would be accessible via Microlink.
Bell also proposes a linking arrangement between Microlink and Datapac, via D channels at three speeds and via the B channel at 64 kbps.
In support of its application, Bell has submitted economic information for which it has claimed confidentiality. It has provided an abridged version of this information for the public record.
The application may be examined at any of the company's business offices or at the offices of the CRTC, Room 201, Central Building, Les Terrasses de la Chaudière, 1 Promenade du Portage, Hull, Quebec, or Complex Guy-Favreau, East Tower, 200 René-Lévesque Blvd. West, 6th Floor, Montréal, Quebec.
