RENEWAL OF LICENCES FOR TELEVISION BROADCASTING UNDERTAKINGS AND TELEVISION NETWORKS IN QUEBEC

For administrative reasons, the Commission renews the licences for the television networks and their affiliates, as listed in the appendix to this decision. The licences will be effective from 1 September 1991 to 31 August 1992, subject to the terms and conditions specified in the current licences.
|
This term will enable the Commission to consider the renewal of these licences at the same time as that of the CBC French-language television network at a Public Hearing to be held in the fall of 1991. As stated in Decision CRTC 90-69, the Commission, among other matters, will wish to review with the licensees and with other interested parties the dubbing practices of these networks and stations as recommended in a report submitted to the Commission on 18 May 1989 by a Task Force whose mandate was to examine the problems surrounding the broadcast of dubbed programs by French-language television stations in Canada.
