Following a Public Hearing in Montreal on 21 January 1986, the Commission approves the application by Four Seasons Television Network Inc. for a licence to carry on a French-language television network to rebroadcast the programs of CFJP-TV Montreal in the major regional markets of Quebec.
The Commission will issue a network licence expiring 31 March 1990, subject to the conditions specified in the licence to be issued. This term will allow the Commission to consider the renewal of this licence at the same time as that of CFJP-TV Montreal and of the stations affiliated to this network, whose operation have been authorized by Decisions CRTC 86-163 to CRTC 86-166 published today.
The stations authorized to be affiliated to this network will be specified in a schedule that will be appended to the licence. In accordance with Public Notice CRTC 1985-252 dated 20 November 1985, any addition or deletion of affiliates requires the prior approval of the Commission.
The Commission notes the concerns raised in the written intervention submitted by TVA Television Network Inc. regarding the way in which the new network will operate.
