Document Control: Task Identification Forms
Intercarrier Administration Group
DCTIF001.RTF - Rich*Text - 8,470 bytes - TASK DESCRIPTION: Many of the CISC subworking groups (SWGs) have created documentation that will have to be maintained over time for use by existing and new local exchange carriers. Currently, numbering and format conventions in the documents issued by the various SWGs are inconsistent due to the lack of a published standard for producing and maintaining CISC documentation. Further, while the CISC web site allows participants in the CISC process to locate and identify files containing documents specific to the SWGs they are involved in, it is not clear from the file names or the descriptions of the files exactly what each file contains, making it difficult for those without a direct interest in the specific SWG to locate information. This task has been initiated to establish processes to improve the uniformity of appearance of CISC documentation, and the methods of locating documents that will be required by existing and new local exchange carriers, as well as outside parties with a general interest. At a minimum, this task will cover: (Updated 1998/08/19)
DCTIF002.RTF - Rich*Text - 4,170 bytes - TASK DESCRIPTION: The CISC subworking groups (SWGs) have produced a number of agreements, procedures, guidelines and standards which will be utilized by industry participants in the day to day activities associated with local competition. Some of these documents are/will be posted on the website and may be available in both hard and soft copies. - Updated 1998/08/19
DCTIF003.RTF - Rich*Text - 6,579 bytes - TASK DESCRIPTION: Since its inception the Canadian Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) sub-working groups have developed numerous types of documents ranging from legal agreements, to technical and operational specifications. Once finalized, most of these documents will be available on the CRTC web site and can be modified subject to the terms and conditions established by the Document Control SWG. Other documents, however, will fall within the control of other industry fora such as, for example, one of the three consortia. - Updated 1998/08/19
DCTIF004.RTF - Rich*Text - 10,433 bytes - TASK DESCRIPTION: Many of the CISC subworking groups (SWGs) have created documentation that will have to be maintained over time for use by existing and new local exchange carriers. In July, 1997, the CRTC issued guidelines which implied that the newly created CISC website was intended to be a central repository for CISC related documents, and instructed SWGs to provide drafts of documents that recorded work underway for posting to the website. During the evolution of the CISC, some of these documents have been posted to the CISC web site, while others have been maintained in other forms (both soft and hard copies) by the various SWGs. In some cases, there is no central location where these documents are stored, and a viewer cannot be assured that he/she is looking at the most up to date version. Comments have also been made about the ability to find specific information on the CISC website, given the lack of an accompanying search facility. This task will recommend what actions need to be taken to enhance the existing CISC website, or create a new one, in order to satisfy the original goal of making it a central repository for CISC approved documentation while making it increasingly user friendly to allow a new entrant to be easily guided through the documentation. This task will have cross-impacts with the Minimum Standards for Documents task. - Updated 1998/08/19
