Description:
Bell Aliant Regional Communications, Limited Partnership (Bell Aliant) and Bell Canada (collectively, the Companies) are in receipt of a request by TELUS, dated 2 March 2011, requesting that the issues pertaining to Decision 2011-72 be examined by the CISC ESWG. In the alternative, TELUS requests that a period of at least nine months would be necessary to scope out the requirements and build the solution proposed by the Commission. The Companies support these requests and provide the following response.

In Decision 2011-72, the Commission required the implementation of the directives from Viability of proposals for the provision of E9-1-1 service for nomadic and fixed/non-native VoIP subscribers, Telecom Decision CRTC 2010-387 (“Decision 2010-387”) within 30 days of the issuance of Decision 2011-72.1 This 30-day period is set to expire on March 10, 2011.
