Browser settings for on-line forms
To use the CRTC's online forms, you need to have both the cookies and JavaScript options turned on in your browser.
CRTC forms use session cookies only. This means that you have 20 minutes to fill in a page. After 20 minutes, you will lose any information you have entered.
For instructions on changing your settings, select your browser from the list below. If your browser isn't listed, or if you don't want to enable Java and cookies on your browser, you can contact the CRTC.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0/7.0/8.0/9.0
Enabling cookies
- In Internet Explorer 7/8, from the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
- In Internet Explorer 9, click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner and choose Internet Options.
- Select Privacy tab.
- Set the slider to “Medium”
- Click OK on the Security window.
Enabling JavaScript
- In Internet Explorer 7/8, from the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
- In Internet Explorer 9, click on the gear icon in the upper-right corner and choose Internet Options.
- Select Security tab.
- Select Custom Level.
- Scroll down to Scripting:
- under Active Scripting select Enable
- under Scripting for Java Applets select Enable
- Click OK on the Security Settings window.
- Click OK on the Internet Options window.
After changing your browser settings, close your browser for the new settings to take effect.
Google Chrome
Enabling cookies
- On the web browser menu click on the "Customize and control Google Chrome" and select "Settings".
- In the "Settings" section click on the "Show advanced settings..."
- Click Content settings in the "Privacy" section.
- Select "Allow local data to be set (recommended)" to allow both first-party and third-party cookies.
- Click on the "OK" button to close it.
- Close the "Settings" tab.
- Click on the "Reload this page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Enabling JavaScript
- On the web browser menu click on the "Customize and control Google Chrome" and select "Settings".
- In the "Settings" section click on the "Show advanced settings..."
- Under the "Privacy" click on the "Content settings...".
- When the dialog window opens, look for the "JavaScript" section and select "Allow all sites to run JavaScript (recommended)".
- Click on the "OK" button to close it.
- Close the "Settings" tab.
- Click on the "Reload this page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Mozilla Firefox 5.0+
Enabling cookies
- On the web browser click "Firefox" menu and then select "Options".
- In the "Options" window select the "Privacy" tab.
- Set the History drop-down to "Remember History".
- In the opened "Options" window click on the "OK" button to close it.
- Click on the "Reload current page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Enabling JavaScript
- On the web browser click "Firefox" menu and then select "Options".
- In the "Options" window select the "Content" tab.
- Mark the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox.
- In the opened "Options" window click on the "OK" button to close it.
- Click on the "Reload current page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Apple Safari
Enabling cookies
- On the web browser menu click on the "Edit" and select "Preferences".
- In the "Preferences" window select the "Privacy" tab.
- In the "Block cookies" tab section set Safari to "Accept cookies".
- Click on the "Reload the current page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
Enabling JavaScript
- On the web browser menu click on the "Edit" and select "Preferences".
- In the "Preferences" window select the "Security" tab.
- In the "Security" tab section "Web content" mark the "Enable JavaScript" checkbox.
Click on the "Reload the current page" button of the web browser to refresh the page.
