Canadian Content Development (CCD)
CCD is a financial contribution made by commercial radio broadcasters that can be used for eligible initiatives to aid in the development and promotion of Canadian music and spoken word content for broadcast.

Indigenous radio broadcasters are eligible to receive contributions for initiatives to fund the development of radio programming (both music and spoken word content) for their stations.
What are some funding and support resources available for Indigenous undertakings?
As a regulatory body, the CRTC does not provide funding to offset operational costs. However, there are other federal departments and organizations that provide funding and support for Indigenous undertakings.
Broadcasters:
- Departments of Canadian Heritage:
- Northern Aboriginal Broadcasting Program
- Local Journalism Initiative (the Community Radio Fund of Canada administers this program for eligible radio operators, including Indigenous radio broadcasters)
Creators:
- FACTOR and Musicaction provide funding programs for eligible music creators
- Canada Music Fund
- Canada Council for the Arts
- Canada Cultural Spaces Fund
- Canada Media Fund
- Telefilm Canada
- Certified Independent Production Funds
- National Screen Institute
- Indigenous Screen Office
Other tax credit and provincial funding opportunities exist that are often relied upon by Indigenous television and film producers, and Indigenous music artists:
- Federal Tax Credits such as the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit Program (CPTC) and the Film or Video Production Services Tax Credit (PSTC)
- Provincial Tax Credits such as the Manitoba Film and Video Production Tax Credit
- Provincial Arts Organizations such as Manitoba Film and Music, Manitoba Music, Ontario Arts Council, and Creative BC.
