Subject: Telecom Notice of Consultation 2025-226 - Development of a regulatory policy on measures to improve the resiliency of telecommunications networks and the reliability of telecommunications services – Deadline for reply comments

The Commission initiated Telecom Notice of Consultation 2025-226 on 4 September 2025 to gather views on the development of a regulatory policy on measures that telecommunications service providers should take to help improve the resiliency of telecommunications networks and the reliability of telecommunications services.

As part of this proceeding, the Commission received interventions from various parties. On 12 May 2026, Commission staff also issued a request for information (RFI) to gather additional information for the record. Also, note that Bill C-8: An Act Respecting Cyber Security (ARCS) received Royal Assent on 15 June 2026. This legislation strengthens Canada’s ability to protect essential services by supporting the security of the country’s telecommunications system, and bolstering cyber security across the financial, telecommunications, energy, and transportation sectors.

In Telecom Notice of Consultation 2025-226, the Commission indicated that the deadline for reply comments would be communicated by letter following the RFI process. As that process is now complete, parties may file reply comments addressing any matters on the record of the proceeding by 26 August 2026.

A copy of this letter will be placed on the public record of this proceeding.

Yours sincerely,
