Subject: Procedural Request from FRPC and PIAC: Improving the public alerting system – Request to Extend Deadline

Dear recipients:

On 12 May 2026, the Commission received a collective procedural request from the Forum for Research and Policy in Communications (FRPC) and Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) for one week extension in the deadline to reply to responses received for Commission staff’s request for information (RFI). The FRPC and PIAC stated that the extension request is due to the need for comprehensive review of all responses and effective collaboration with the concerned groups.

In consideration of the complexity of the responses received, a statutory holiday reducing the review time to four working days, and to provide a fair opportunity to all interested parties to participate, the Commission staff considers it appropriate to grant additional days to submit replies to RFI responses, and the amended deadline will apply to all parties addressed. Accordingly, the deadline to submit a reply to RFI responses is changed from 21 May 2026 to 25 May 2026.
