Subject: Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-272 – Proposed regulations published in Canada Gazette, Part I
On 16 October 2025, in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-272, the Commission proposed an amendment to section 7.3 of the Broadcasting Distribution Regulations and invited interested persons to comment.Footnote 1 Links to interventions, as well as other documents referred to in this notice, are available on the Commission’s “Public Proceedings” page.
Through inadvertence, the proposed amendment was not published simultaneously in the Canada Gazette. It will now be published in the Canada Gazette, Part I on 1 August 2026.
This will simply reproduce the proposed regulatory amendment already published in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-272 and will not add any new information to the record of the proceeding.
Nonetheless, the Canada Gazette, Part I process will provide an opportunity for interested persons who have not yet commented on the proposed amendment to do so within 30 days after publication. In the event that submissions are filed, they will be placed before the Commission for its consideration as appropriate.
Commission staff confirms that parties that have already submitted their comments in Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2025-272 are not expected to comment again. Their comments are already on the record and will be considered as such.
