Application 2026-0356-3 , received 10 July 2026
CFNJ-FM Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon – Revocation of licence
- Radio Nord-Joli Inc. has requested the revocation of its broadcasting licence for the French-language community FM radio programming undertaking CFNJ-FM Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, Quebec, last renewed in Broadcasting Decision 2025-136.
- In Broadcasting Decision 2024-113, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (the Commission) approved the licensee’s application for a new broadcasting licence to operate a French-language community FM radio programming undertaking in Joliette, Quebec, to replace its French-language community FM radio station CFNJ-FM Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon. Since the licensee requested to retain the frequency already being used by Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, the implementation of that approval requires the revocation of the licence currently in effect for this station.
- Given the licensee’s request and pursuant to paragraph 9(1)(f) and subsection 24(1) of the Broadcasting Act, the Commission revokes the broadcasting licence issued to Radio Nord-Joli Inc. for CFNJ-FM Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon. Consistent with Broadcasting Decision 2024-113, the rebroadcasting transmitter CFNJ-FM-1 Saint-Zénon, Quebec, currently associated with the licence for CFNJ-FM Saint-Gabriel-de-Brandon, will be transferred to the licence of the new station CFNJ-FM Joliette once it has been issued.
