Subject: Interim Costs Applications for Broadcasting and Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2025-94, Call for comments – A new approach to funding public interest participation in Commission proceedings
On 12 May 2025, the Commission launched Notice of Consultation 2025-94 to determine how it can better support people, including public interest groups, to participate in its proceedings.
As a part of this proceeding, the Commission noted that the largest telecommunications companies are often the ones required to pay costs in proceedings, and listed the likely costs respondents for this proceeding:
- Bell Canada;
- Cogeco Connexion Inc.;
- Quebecor Media Inc.;
- Rogers Communications Canada Inc.;
- Saskatchewan Telecommunications; and
- TELUS Communications Inc.
The Commission has received three interim costs applications for this proceeding. These applications can be found here: https://applications.crtc.gc.ca/portail-portal/eng/listes-lists/public-proceedings/18#2025-94
You may have already received notice of these applications by the applicants, and they are publicly posted. As these applications were publicly posted and the reply period has ended, Commission staff now consider the record closed. If you intend to argue otherwise, please respond to this letter with your intention by 4 July.
Sincerely,
Original signed by
