Subject: Modification to Emergency Services Working Group report deadline – Telecom Decision 2025-67

Dear Ryan Anstey,

We are writing to inform you of the Commission’s decision regarding your request, dated 18 March 2025, for an extension to the 31 March 2025 deadline to file the first of a series of semi-annual progress reports on provincial, territorial and municipal 9-1-1 call centres' transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1).

These progress reports are required pursuant to Telecom Decision 2025-67 and are intended to keep the public, stakeholders, and the Commission informed about the progress that is being made in the transition to NG9-1-1.

The Emergency Services Working Group submitted that the extension was needed to ensure the quality and thoroughness of the progress report and requested that the deadline for the first report be extended to 30 May 2025.

The Commission considers it appropriate to revise the deadline for the first status report to 30 May 2025. The deadlines for subsequent reports remain unchanged.

If you have any questions, please contact Étienne Robelin, Manager, Emergency Services Policy, Telecommunications Sector, at etienne.robelin@crtc.gc.ca or 873-354-4325.

Sincerely,

Original signed by

Marc Morin
Secretary General
