Subject: Request to extend the deadline to file the consultation report and operational plan

Dear Alan Greyeyes,

In response to your request dated 17 November 2025, the Commission extended, by a further four months, the deadline to submit the consultation report and operational plan (the Report) to set up an Indigenous Music Fund.

The reporting deadline was originally established in Broadcasting Regulatory Policy 2024-121 and extended, on request, to 6 December 2025.

In its letter, Indigenous Music Office requested an additional extension so that it may continue to engage with key Indigenous groups at a national level. This extension would ensure that the Report to the Commission accurately reflects the diverse realities and needs of Indigenous music communities. The Commission agrees that ongoing engagement is appropriate in the circumstances and therefore sets the new deadline to no later than 6 April 2026.

Your correspondence and this response will be added to the above-noted public record.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Scott Shortliffe, Vice-President, Broadcasting, by email at Scott.Shortliffe@crtc.gc.ca.

Sincerely,

Marc Morin
Secretary General and Executive Vice-President
