Subject: Bell Canada Tariff Notice (TN) 7702 – Withdraw Digital Exchange Access Service – Procedural request
Dear Philippe Gauvin:
On 23 September 2024, the Commission received an application from Bell Canada proposing changes to its General Tariff CRTC 6716, Item 5300 - Digital Exchange Access (DEA) Service.
On 15 November 2024, the Commission received a request from Bell Canada to extend the deadline for filing reply comments to 25 November 2024. Bell Canada indicated that the extension was required to develop a more fulsome response and potential options in response to an intervention from Hydro Quebec. The company added that this will allow it to more effectively meet the needs of its customer.
Under the circumstances, Commission staff considers that an extension will allow the company more time to better address the needs of customers impacted by the proposed withdrawal of the services. Accordingly, Bell Canada is to file its reply comments by no later than 25 November 2024. As a result, this request will not be processed before 45 business days after its receipt. However, the Commission intends to issue a final decision within 120 calendar days of the date of the initial application.
Yours sincerely,
