Subject: Canadian Steering Committee on Numbering (CSCN) – Extension request for recommendations to strengthen the number assignment guidelines
We are following-up on your request, dated 26 June 2024, for an extension to the deadline by which the CRTC Interconnection Steering Committee (CISC) was requested to submit its recommendations to strengthen the number assignment guidelines.
The Commission had made this request in Telecom Regulatory Policy (TRP) 2024-26.
In your letter, you indicated that while the CSCN has reached a consensus agreement on the complete report, a party to the report has requested that the standard 10‐business day reviewing period be observed consistent with the CISC Administrative Guidelines.
Having considered your request, the Commission has determined that such an extension would allow the CSCN to meet its obligations as they relate to procedural fairness.
Based on the above, the Commission requests that the CISC CSCN provide its recommendations to strengthen the number assignment guidelines as requested in TRP 2024-26 by 16 July 2024.
If you have any questions regarding this issue, please do not hesitate to contact Étienne Robelin at etienne.robelin@crtc.gc.ca or at 873-354-4325.
Yours sincerely,
