Subject: Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2020-269: Call for comments – imposition of administrative monetary penalties on Iristel Inc. and TELUS Communications Inc. in relation to the routing and termination of phone calls to the 867 area code in Northern Canada—Termination of Proceeding
Dear Jean-François Dumoulin and Stephen Schmidt:
In a letter dated 17 May 2023, Telus Communications Inc. (TCI) notified the Commission that it had entered into an undertaking in relation to the proceeding associated with Telecom Notice of Consultation (NOC) 2020-269Footnote1, which had been accepted by a person designated by the Commission to accept undertakings in relation to this NOC proceeding.
Similarly, in a letter dated 17 October 2023, Iristel Inc. (Iristel) notified the Commission that it had entered into an undertaking related to NOC 2020-269, which had been accepted by a designated person.
Given that TCI and Iristel have each entered into an undertaking, Commission staff advises that NOC 2020-269 is ended in respect of TCI and Iristel in connection with the potential imposition of administrative monetary penalties as referred to in that proceeding.
