RE: CFGQ-FM Calgary, Alberta and CHQR Calgary, Alberta – Request to withdraw Applications 2023-0203-2, 2023-0201-6 and 2023-0202-4
Commission staff is in receipt of the letter sent on 24 April 2024 requesting the withdrawal of the following applications:
- 2023-0203-2: Request to revoke the licence of CHQR Calgary
- 2023-0201-6 Request to amend the licence of CFGQ-FM Calgary to add an AM rebroadcasting transmitter for the station, which would operate on the same frequency and within the same technical parameters as CHQR Calgary.
- 2023-0202-4: Request to add a condition of licence (now condition of “service”) on CFGQ-FM requiring that more than 50 percent of all programming broadcast on that station during each broadcast week consist of material from Category 1 – Spoken Word.
The withdrawal request of the above-mentioned applications is approved. Commission staff will continue to process the two licence renewal applications 2022-0653-1 and 2022-0657-3 for CHQR and CFGQ-FM.
A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the five applications mentioned in this letter.
