Community television station in Winnipeg – Finalization of conditions of service

In Community television station in Winnipeg, Broadcasting Decision CRTC 2024-30, 9 February 2024 (Broadcasting Decision 2024-30), the Commission approved an application by U Multicultural Inc. (UMI) for a broadcasting licence to operate a multilingual community television station in Winnipeg, Manitoba, subject to certain conditions of approval.
In that decision, the Commission proposed to make orders imposing on UMI the various conditions of service set out in Appendix 2 to the decision and invited interested persons to make representations only on the proposed orders. The Commission did not receive any representations.
In light of the above, and pursuant to subsection 9.1(1) of the Broadcasting Act,the Commission hereby makes the orders imposing conditions of service on U Multicultural Inc. in respect of the new multilingual community television programming undertaking in Winnipeg, Manitoba, as set out in Appendix 2 to Broadcasting Decision 2024-30.
The Commission reminds UMI that, as conditions of approval of its licence, it is required to make the changes to its bylaws set out in paragraphs 19 and 40 of Broadcasting Decision 2024-30 and submit revised documents within 90 days of the date of Broadcasting Decision 2024-30.
