Further to Broadcasting Notice of Consultation 2024-11, the Commission announces the following:
In accordance with section 22 of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure (Rules of Procedure), an applicant must serve its application on a respondent, which is defined as a person who is “adverse in interest” and includes those stations whose frequencies overlap with the frequency proposed by the applicant. Additional guidance is provided at paragraphs 59-61 of Guidelines on the CRTC Rules of Practice and Procedure, Broadcasting and Telecom Information Bulletin CRTC 2010-959, 23 December 2010.
The Commission has been informed that a low-power station that would be affected by the proposed new station was not served with the application by Bayshore Broadcasting Corporation, as per the Rules of Procedure.
To ensure that the low-power station, as well as any other applicable respondent, is served with the application and has time to review it and intervene, the Commission reopens the public record of the proceeding and extends the deadline to submit interventions, comments and answers for item 1 only until 7 May 2024, and the deadline for submission of replies from the applicant for item 1 only until 13 May 2024.
