Acts and omissions covered by the undertaking and provisions at issue:
Pursuant to section 72.006 of the Telecommunications Act (S.C. 1993, c. 38) (the Act), Iristel has voluntarily entered into an undertaking with respect to the non-compliance identified in Telecom Decision 2020-268.
Iristel will make $250,000 in charitable donations over a 12 month period, and provide the designated person with documentation of the donations to one or a combination of the following three registered charities:
- United Way Society of the Yukon
- United Way of Northwest Territories
- Arctic Children and Youth Foundation
This undertaking does not constitute a decision of the Commission in relation to Telecom Notice of Consultation 2020-269, and the Commission has not ruled on any arguments raised by Iristel in that proceeding. However, this undertaking fully and completely resolves all outstanding issues with respect to the non-compliance identified in Telecom Decision 2020-268
