RE: Northwestel Inc. Tariff Notice 1191 – Add Atlin, BC to Residential Services, Northwestel Inc. Tariff Notice 1192 – Add Atlin, BC to Enterprise Business Services
Dear Imran Khan:
On 20 October 2023, the Commission received two applications from Northwestel Inc. (Northwestel) proposing changes associated with the addition of Atlin, BC to its residential and enterprise tariffs for the following tariff items:
- General Tariff CRTC 3001, Item 207 – Exchange Rates
- General Tariff CRTC 3001, Item 1736 – Terrestrial Enterprise Internet Services
- Private Wire Service Tariff CRTC 3003, Item 1110 – V-Connect Service
- Private Wire Service Tariff CRTC 3003, Item 1118 – Ethernet Metropolitan Area Network (E-MAN) Service
On 20 November 2023, the Commission sent a letter to Taku River Tlingit First Nation (TRTFN) outlining Northwestel’s proposals, as modified by the company’s response dated 6 November 2023 to Commission staff’s request for information, and encouraging residents and businesses to submit comments.
These applications were published on the Commission’s website on 23 October 2023 and the associated deadline to comment is currently 22 November 2023. In order to ensure that Atlin residents have sufficient time to comment on Northwestel’s proposals, including those modified in the company’s response, and allow for a more comprehensive record, Commission staff considers an extension of the comment period to be appropriate.
Accordingly, comments with respect to the applications should be filed no later than 13 December 2023. Reply comments from Northwestel are to be filed no later than 10 January 2024.
