Subject: Telecom Notice of Consultation 2023-56 – Addition of new parties to the proceeding

On 6 November 2023, the Commission issued Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2023-56-3. In this Notice, the Commission decided to place on the record of the proceeding interventions from six entities, notwithstanding that these had been filed past established deadlines. The Commission considered it was in the public interest to add their interventions to the record of the proceeding as their perspectives are important for this proceeding.

The Commission noted that it was of the view that accepting these filings on the record of the proceeding would not prejudice the parties to this proceeding, as parties will have opportunities to provide comments on these interventions during the reply to interventions phase of this proceeding, closing on November 20, 2023 as well as during the public hearing.

Commission staff has since been made aware of three additional entities who also filed their first interventions past the 22 June 2023 deadline. Consistent with the above reasoning, staff considers that these entities should also be made parties to the proceeding. As a result, the submissions of Airnet Wireless Inc., Forest Products Association of Canada, and Michel Mersereau will be added to the record of this proceeding.

Sincerely,
