Subject: Telecommunications in the Far North, Phase II, Notice of Consultation CRTC 2022-147 (TNC 2022-147), Changes to procedure
In an effort to facilitate the continued participation of parties in the proceeding, and to ensure parties are informed of critical changes to the proceeding schedule and record, this letter is to advise that the Commission has now set out next steps for the proceeding initiated by Telecom Notice of Consultation CRTC 2022-147, Telecommunications in the Far North, Phase II. These next steps are outlined in an amendment to the notice of consultation, which is available here. The Commission also added two new submissions to the public record of the proceeding.
The amendment to the notice of consultation has set a revised deadline for final submissions to 29 November 2023. By this same deadline, the Commission is also providing an opportunity for those that have not previously participated to make new submissions on matters within the scope of this proceeding that provide Nunavut or Inuit Nunangat perspectives.
The amendment to the notice of consultation has also added a final reply stage to the proceeding. The deadline for final replies is 13 December 2023 and is limited to 20 pages. Final replies provide an opportunity for parties to respond to submissions on the record and not to add new evidence and arguments.
On 22 May 2023 and 21 June 2023, the Commission received two interventions after the deadline for formal interventions. The Commission added these submissions to the public record (interventions #117 and #118 are available here).
Consistent with paragraph 110 of TNC 2022-147, parties are encouraged to monitor the record of the proceeding for new information.
A copy of this letter will be placed on the public record of this proceeding.
