RE:  Telecommunications in the Far North, Phase II, Telecom Notice of Consultation 2022-147: notice of delay of publication of the public opinion research on telecommunications services in the Far North

As part of the Telecommunications in the Far North, Phase II, Telecom Notice of Consultation 2022-147 proceeding (the Phase 2 Notice), the CRTC commissioned a public opinion research project to gather the opinions of persons living in the Far North.

At paragraph 125 of the Phase 2 Notice, the CRTC indicated:

The CRTC intends to commission a public opinion research project for Phase II that will involve gathering the opinions of persons living in the Far North. The public opinion research will be placed on the public record for parties to comment on and will be taken into account as part of the CRTC’s decision for this proceeding. We expect to place the final research report on the public record by 31 March 2023.

This letter is to advise parties that, due to unforeseen delays, the report referenced above will not be ready for publication by the expected date. Commission staff will notify parties by letter when the report is placed on the public record. That letter will also set out the procedure for parties to comment on the findings in the report.

Consistent with paragraph 110 of the Phase 2 Notice, parties are encouraged to continue to monitor the record of the proceeding for new information.

A copy of this letter will be placed on the public record of this proceeding.

Yours sincerely,
