Re: Application for costs award with respect to Bell Canada’s Part 1 application to review and vary Telecom Decisions 2022-160 and 2021-131

Dear Ms. Sai:

On 17 November 2022, the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission received an application for costs from the Public Interest Advocacy Centre (PIAC) with respect to its participation in Bell Canada’s Part 1 application to review and vary Telecom Decisions 2022-160 and 2021-131.

The purpose of this letter is to request information from PIAC regarding its application for costs.

Subsection 66(3) of the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission Rules of Practice and Procedure, SOR/2010-277 requires that costs applicants serve their applications on all other parties to the proceeding, including interveners.

Accordingly, PIAC is asked to confirm whether Québecor Média Inc. and TELUS Communications Inc., who acted as interveners in the above-noted proceeding, have been served with its application for costs.

PIAC is requested to provide the information requested above no later than 23 January 2023.

A copy of this letter and all related correspondence will be added to the public record of the proceeding.

Yours sincerely,
